DFSMS/MVS V1R5 improves system and data availability, increases productivity, offers performance enhancements, and fulfills several important customer requirements. The first chapter provides an overview of the new functions and enhancements in DFSMS/MVS V1R5.

Each subsequent chapter is dedicated to a component of DFSMS/MVS such as DFSMSdfp. Pre-DFSMS systems are able to access HFS data sets as long as they are not multivolume data sets and not indicated as multivolume candidates in the catalog.

PTFs must be applied on pre-DFSMS systems before allowing read or write access to DFSMS systems to ensure integrity of the file system. DFSMShsm Storage Administration Guide This topic describes the tasks that must be performed to use DFSMShsm, a component of DFSMS that manages your storage in a hierarchical manner.

It contains examples of the commands needed to perform the tasks, descriptions of the processing that DFSMShsm performs, and examples of the results of that processing.
